1. General Obligations (All Partners)
1.1 Quality of Service
Partners must maintain their printing equipment in good working condition. Consumables (ink, toner, paper, filament) must meet the quality standards described in your partner profile. Misrepresenting capabilities or utilizing sub-standard materials will result in suspension from the network.
1.2 Content Compliance & Copyright
Partners must not print materials that are explicitly illegal in their jurisdiction (e.g., child exploitation material, counterfeit currency, instructions for illegal weapons). However, partners do not own the copyright to the materials printed for clients. Partners must not reproduce, copy, store, or distribute any printed materials beyond fulfilling the specific user order.
1.3 Data Protection & GDPR
As a partner, you act as a Data Processor under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar global privacy laws. You must strictly adhere to the following:
- Confidentiality: The contents of user print jobs are strictly confidential. You may not read, scan, or analyze user documents beyond what is technically required to execute the print job.
- Secure Deletion: All digital files transferred to your local machine or print server must be securely deleted immediately after the print job is successfully completed or cancelled. No local caching or backup of user files is permitted.
- Physical Security: Printed materials awaiting pick-up or shipping must be stored in a secure location where unauthorized individuals cannot view or access them.
- Breach Notification: If a partner's local system is compromised, they must notify PrintService.IO within 24 hours to comply with statutory reporting requirements.
1.4 Quality Control & Enforcement
To maintain the highest standards across the network, the following enforcement policies apply:
- Suspension & Disconnection: PrintService.IO reserves the absolute right to suspend or permanently disconnect any partner found to be in violation of this agreement, local/international laws, or who consistently fails to meet our quality of work standards.
- Random Quality Checks: We reserve the right to perform random quality checks, including "mystery shopping" orders and equipment audits, at any time to verify compliance with our service standards.
- Zero Tolerance: Violations related to data privacy (GDPR), illegal content production, or severe quality failures will result in immediate and permanent removal from the platform.
2. Legal Entities (Print Shops & Businesses)
2.1 Business Registration & KYC
Registered businesses must provide a valid company registration number, VAT/Tax ID, and authorized representative details during the onboarding Know Your Business (KYB) process.
2.2 Taxation & Invoicing
Print shops are responsible for correctly applying and remitting Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or Sales Tax according to the rules of their jurisdiction based on the location of the end-user. PrintService.IO acts as an intermediary marketplace, but the final invoice generated for the client will be issued on behalf of the partner print shop.
2.3 Commercial Liability
Legal entities must maintain appropriate commercial liability insurance to cover damages during local pick-ups or loss of materials during shipping. Businesses are subject to standard consumer protection laws regarding refunds and reprints for defective services.
3. Private Individuals (Home Printer Owners)
3.1 Identity Verification (KYC)
To ensure network trust and prevent fraud, private individuals must complete a standard identity verification process (e.g., government-issued ID validation) before receiving their first payout.
3.2 Personal Income Taxation
Income generated through PrintService.IO constitutes taxable income in most jurisdictions. Private partners are solely responsible for declaring this income to their local tax authorities (e.g., as self-employment income, gig economy income, or hobby income, depending on local thresholds).
EU DAC7 Directive Note:
If you are a resident of the European Union, PrintService.IO is legally obligated under the DAC7 directive to report your earnings to the relevant tax authorities if your sales exceed 30 transactions or €2,000 in a calendar year.
3.3 Residential Zoning & Pick-ups
If you offer local pick-up from a residential address, you must ensure this does not violate your local zoning laws, HOA rules, or tenancy agreements. For safety and privacy, we highly recommend utilizing neutral drop-off points (like local parcel lockers) or offering shipping-only services if you are uncomfortable providing your home address to end users.
